Far too many have found the film to be plodding and heavy on dialogue. But its those aspects that make it first rate. One might try to deny it, but NSW is portrayed close to how life really is for most of us; seemingly unsatisfying, yet in the end, rewarding. Throw in the fetching and talented Hope Davis, you have a five-star film. Victor Argo, Robert Klein and Philip Seymour Hoffman shine in supporting roles. Watch it with an open mind!

There is a cunning in this story line. Slow enough, drawn out enough that you keep considering hitting the stop button on the remote, but intriguing enough to make you not do that. So I didn't and watched it all. Mom places a wildly inaccurate personals in paper for her daughter. Male housemates read the ad and decide to all answer it. Kind of funny what transpires. My biggest problem though is the "crossing paths" and missed encounters is a little clunky. All in all though, if I were renting three movies for the weekend, this would be my third one. Is that a backhanded compliment? LOL

Quirky and interesting, a very good watch and highly recommended if you like a comedy that's a little different to the average.
