Alberto (Rodolpho Beban) is a law student who frequents the Hansen dancing hall where the decadent tango is king of the forbidden dances. When he "wins" a woman from a thug in a knife fight, he falls for the beautiful Mireya (Susana Campos). The two plan to marry until his socially conscious parents demand that he break off the relationship.
