Critters, an amusing horror comedy directed byStephen Herek, is the story of a family menaced by eight basketball sized creatures from outer space who arrive at their Kansas farm in search of food. Helen Brown (Dee Wallace Stone) and Brad (Scott Grimes), owners of the farm find themselves held hostage as the creatures roll, jump and bounce around during the night. They are pursued by a pair of inept, intergalactic bounty hunters, Charlie (Don Keith Opper) and Johnny (Terrence Mann) who can shape-shift at will and are packing weapons capable of taking care of any creature they encounter. The special effects of this humorous thriller are extremely good and the creatures themselves have distinct and separate personalities. ~ Linda Rasmussen, Rovi

One of the greatest horror pics of the 80s (and it's not even rated 'R'). Hairballs (with alot of teeth) from space terrorize a country family, while morphing bounty hunters (who are after the Krites a.k.a critters) cause mayhem in town. Nice blend of comedy and horror. Walsh is hilarious as the town sheriff. Part 2 is even better. -Stone

This movie was great I rented this movie and after I saw it I bought it. I usually don't do that! The special effects is what kept this movie from getting one more star. This movie is funny but I would not call it a "laff out loud" movie. If you like cute little monsters that kill people this movie is for you. Before I watched this movie I did not like aleans but now can't get enough of them!

Again like Mike said. This is a classic horror film from the 80's. It's great comedy horror and if you love science fiction movies than this will be enough to give you a smile. Furry aliens hell bent on eating humans, you can't go wrong with that. So sit back and enjoy this classic horror movie. C+
