The directorial debut of John Boone, Stuck in Love stars Greg Kinnear as Bill Borgens, a highly respected and award-winning novelist who has been unable to write a word since his wife Erica (Jennifer Connelly) left him three years ago. While he pines for his ex, their oldest daughter Sam (Lily Collins) is about to publish her first novel, but is consumed with hatred towards her mother. Meanwhile, their younger son, Rusty (Nat Wolff), an obsessive Stephen King fan, falls in love with a fellow teenager who is dealing with an addiction to drugs. Stuck in Love screened at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival under the title Writers. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
A movie about a family of writers, romance, heartbreak, hope and holidays. I enjoyed the pace of this film and the character development of individuals as well as an ensemble. A man who's loving for his ex-wife Erica is unending, he waits for her return which seems like a hopeless prospect; a daughter quick to bed guys but has an aversion to love; a son who crushes on his classmate from afar and finally realizes his fantasy--but it's not what it seems. Loved this movie. Would buy it.
