Guillermo del Toro serves as executive producer of this fantasy adventure based on the book by William Joyce (who co-wrote the screenplay with Robots scribe David Lindsay-Abaire). ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
This was a good movie for young children. The boogie man may frighten them a bit but he is not made too scary and as in all good childrens stories good trumps evil. The movie makes you recall all the different fantasies of your youth, Santa, the Easter Bunny, the Sandman, the Boogie Man, the tooth fairy... One thing the childrent didn't understand is why Santa spoke with a Russian accent because all the Santas they hear have an American accent, It took a little explaning. Overall the movie was good.
I have a 2 year old, 4 year old and a 10 year old and they all loved this movie. Any movie that can keep my 2 year old down in a sit for more than 15 minutes is great for me. Plus I enjoyed the movie. The characters that kids grow up admiring are shown protecting them and doing all they can to make sure the kids are protected. What more can you ask for? Great movie!!
