Straight laced stockbroker and married father Jean-Louis Joubert encounters a free-spirited group of Spanish maids who inspire him to live life to the fullest, and forms a special bond with pretty servant Maria in this French comedy set in 1960s-era Paris. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
On the one hand I can appreciate that some viewers really liked this movie, but that being said, I nearly turned it off several times because I found the lead character so embarrassingly annoying. (Annoyingly embarrassing?) Natalia Verbeke completely saves and steals the show, though I thought as a character, the wife got the short shrift.
THIS DESERVES MORE THAN TWO STARS BECAUSE IT'S A WELL-MADE AND ACTED AS WELL AS INSIGHTFUL MOVIE. PEOPLE DO CHANGE AND DON'T HAVE TO PLOD ALONG IN THE SAME OLD RUTS, HOWEVER GILDED THEY MIGHT BE. HIGHLIGHTS REAL VALUES.
