An ordinary guy gets himself in an extraordinary amount of trouble in this blend of comedy and action from director Ian Fitzgibbon. Michael McCrea (Cillian Murphy) is a regular guy who isn't especially good with money, which leads him to borrow some money from Perrier (Brendan Gleeson), a local loan shark and strong-arm man. Unfortunately, Michael isn't able to pay back the money on schedule, and he quickly learns that Perrier is one man you don't want angry; now there's a price on Michael's head and he needs to pay his debt quickly if he wants to live. Michael accepts a proposal from a small-time hood to do a quick breaking-and-entering job in exchange for part of the loot, but things go very wrong and somehow the neighbor girl Michael is sweet on, Brenda (Jodie Whittaker), ends up shooting someone. Now Michael is on the run from two sets of crooks, has a dead body to deal with, must find an alibi for Brenda, and has to mend fences with his crusty father (Jim Broadbent) before his dad is willing to help. Perrier's Bounty was an official selection at the 2009 Toronto International Film Festival. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

Here is a movie that could walk right passed you, but when I see Brendon Gleason and Cillian Murphy in it there has to be something to watch. Well I was right on with this one. I love to watch British and Irish Gangster films. This one did not disappoint me at all. Dark humor and just great acting with a super story to go along with it. Loved it. Accents may be tough to follow.

I really enjoyed this movie. I thought it was better than a lot of the "shoot-em up movies that have been released lately. Plus there were a few good laughs. I had no problem with the sound, and only a few problems understanding the accents.

There are two warnings with this movie. The first is that you'll have to hold the remote in your hand for the whole movie, as the sound is messed up. When the music plays, the sound is twice as loud, so you'll have to lower the volume. When it goes back to the dialogue, you'll have to raise the volume back up to hear them. Secondly, if you're not used to heavy Irish accents, you won't understand a thing!! The movie was just okay. I'm a die-hard fan of Cillian Murphy so I just enjoyed watching him in this movie & he did a great job, as always!!
