A septuagenarian taking his penultimate voyage from Oslo to Bergen begins to mentally prepare for his final trip, but finds that sometimes things don't turn out as expected when he misses the last departure for the first time in 40 years. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
A wry meditation on aging. Horten is handsome in his fine motorman's leather jacket and cap, and his posture is erect and confident. But throughout the film his dignity is in jeapordy, an exigency that's quite familiar to senior citizens. The ending is sweet, which this reviewer, a pensioner, finds satisfying.
