Member Rating:
The animated tale Gnomeo & Juliet knowingly follows the quintessential star-crossed lovers tragedy Romeo and Juliet, with the unexpected twist of making the characters garden gnomes that can move when human beings aren't watching. Though Gnomeo (James McAvoy) and Juliet (Emily Blunt) belong to feuding garden-gnome families, they meet and fall in love. But the clans' shared animosity is exacerbated when Tybalt (Jason Statham) dies in part because of actions taken by Gnomeo to defend a friend whom Tybalt was attacking. After getting some sage advice from a statue of William Shakespeare (Patrick Stewart), Gnomeo attempts to set things right, and win the heart of the lawn ornament he loves. The supporting cast includes the vocal talents of Michael Caine, Hulk Hogan, and Maggie Smith. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi

I went to see this movie with my parents, my husband and our 3 year old daughter and we all loved it. My parents are big Elton John fans so they liked the music and EJ references. There were plenty of inside jokes for the adults but plenty of action for our 3 year old. And it has a happy ending! A good time was had by all!

I don't know why this movie has such a poor member rating. My fiance and I saw it in the movie theaters (and we payed 3D prices too) and it was hilarious and really cute. Worth every penny and the Elton John songs were nicely added to the movie in a way that younger views can connect to it (I'm 20 and not a big Elton fan but the music was enjoyable).

The movie was great! The story had a lot of action, romance and comedy. The change in the story was refreshing. "I like this ending much better" It looked like they put a lot of thought into the movie and it came out very enjoyable. I can't wait to buy the DVD!
