In order to summon inspiration, Harlan draws on the emotions his wife experienced after losing her father and the book quickly becomes a bestseller. But success has spoiled Robert Hanlan, and now his relationships with both his family and his friends are suffering: In addition to growing further apart from his devoted wife and young daughter, Hanlan barely speaks to the agent who used to be his best friend. When a mysterious stranger makes an ominous prediction about Hanlan's life, the egotistical writer finally receives a much-needed wake-up call. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

I was actually pleasantly surprised by this movie. At times you think it's going to be the same old thing, but it's really not. I truly enjoyed it. Rob Lowe does a great job as the suddenly famous, Robert Harlan. The movie shows what can happen if you let success take over and let it run you. It also shows how it sneaks up on people so fast that they don't even know it. Nice for a quiet and enjoyable day to view it. Recommend it!

Rob Lowe has been showing up in a lot of family-oriented Christmas movies - and doing a very good job. This movie is another prodigal dad/husband movie about a man who loses perspective when he succeeds. It is a good reminder for all of us. I enjoyed seeing Francis Conroy playing a sane, stable person and Christopher Lloyd was great - as always. You will not regret renting this movie.
