Notoriously nihilistic filmmaker Michael Haneke revisits one of his most controversial works in this remake of 1997's Funny Games starring Naomi Watts and Tim Roth. When a family of three arrives at their remote summer cabin for a quiet getaway, the sudden arrival of two psychotic men sets the stage for a harrowing life-or-death struggle that offers savage commentary on the use of violence in entertainment. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

One of the finest horror flicks I have seen in many a year. Tim Roth and naomi Watts are superb actorsi nperfect roles for them. Michael Pitt is dastardly menacing in his role. Michael Haneke has made his mark in films. If you like twisty horror loaded with suspense, don't miss this movie. You won't be able to tear your eyes away from the screen once it starts Jim M.

This was a horrible movie, the acting was terrible, the husbands a wimp, and there were no consequences for the killings, the 2 rich spoiled rotten kids should have been shot. The remote control scene was totally rediculous.

This movie really pissed me off. Michael Haneke states the movie is a comment on violence in American cinema. I would argue it is a comment on taking a lame script, terrible editing and an even worse pace and turning it into a cinematic piece of crap full of cheap tricks. The only redeeming value is watching Naomi Watts amazing performance and seeing her in her underwear. Tim Roth was a bit too pathetic and Corbet and Pitt merely possess the psycho preppy "look" which barely manages to trump their pedestrian dialogue. Seeing the obviously real dog (dead or drugged?) fall out of the SUV was worse than any of the violence kept off screen. But this movie really lost all credibility at the rewind scene. I watch movies because I have a willingness to suspend disbelief and briefly escape this disturbing world we live in. It’s fun to see the good guys win because they so rarely do so in real life. If I want to contemplate violence, all I need do is turn on the news. ZERO STARS!!
