This clever twist on the slasher formula finds a group of teenagers stranded in the forest only to discover a nearby camp whose residents are caught in a time warp from 1981, destined to relive the same brutal slayings every night until the spell is broken. What happens when 21st century teens are faced with the short shorts and shag hair of time gone by when a demented killer is cutting down counselors and campers over and over again in this warped version of Groundhog Day meets Friday the 13th? ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi

Camp Slaughter, or Camp Daze as it was originally titled, is excrement no matter what name it goes under. This is low budget filmmaking at its worst. The sound is horrible, the special effects not special, the acting is awful for the most part, the lighting is bad and the direction is poor. The movie started with a clever concept of parodying Friday the 13th and then tossing in Groundhog Day, yet no one involved with this garbage has a clue how to make it work, and with a budget of what looks to be about $633.00, there wasn't a chance in hell they could pull this off. I'll give it a full star only because they got the hairstyles and clothing right for the period (1981) and the opening was reminiscent of the original Friday the 13th. After that, it was all downhill. Avoid at all costs.
Kinda entertaining, but very low budget and it's reflected in the actors will the commit to the script. It kinda feels like a bunch of friends just got together and didn't take it too seriously. Not to mention the actors are terrible. Might be a good for a few laughs.
