The internationally known performance troupe Cirque du Soleil celebrates its 20th birthday in high style on this home-video release. Cirque du Soleil: Midnight Sun preserves a special event staged as part of the 2004 Montreal Jazz Festival, in which over 250 of Cirque du Soleil's players took to the streets with a spectacular fusion of music, dance, and acrobatics as a rapt audience of over 200,000 people looked on. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi
This is more of a concert than a 'traditional' Cirque show. There are a few unique acts and the music is a live compilation from their various shows. Overall it was a let down. Only for devoted Cirque fans.
I wanted to watch the circus feats with my three and six year old. This is completely inappropriate for children - the make-up frightened them, the music and costumes were garish and disturbing, and none of it made any sense to us - even with English set as the language. We were disappointed.
