True love for science fiction knows no borders, and now the people who brought us Trekkies return to travel the globe in hopes of finding the world's most dedicated Star Trek fan in this belated sequel to the 1997 cult documentary. Once again hosted by Star Trek: The Next Generation's Denise Crosby, Trekkies 2 features interviews with such dedicated fans as the English Trekkie who reconstructed his Leicestershire apartment to resemble the interior of the Starship Enterprise, numerous Filk (science fiction-oriented folk music) singers and Star Trek tribute bands, and also offers coverage of the first-ever Serbian Star Trek convention. Of course, a sequel wouldn't be a sequel without the return of a few fans from the original hit, and Trekkies 2 offers follow-up interviews with such memorable devotees as Gabriel Köerner and Whitewater juror Barbara Adams. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

This film is a lot of fun. The director/producers do NOT make fun of the fans, rather it is an affectionate portrait of those among us for whom STAR TREK, in its many permutations, looms large in their lives. Revisits several participants from the first TREKKIES film, including notably Gabriel Koerner who is funny, hot and self-effacing all at the same time. Well worth a look.

Although Trekkies was low budget and rough around the edges, it had a certain something this version did not have. It was shot on video this time and poorly at that. It seemed more like someone took a trip through europe and shot some footage so they could write it off as a business expense. The revisits to the standouts in the original had some merit but overall this video is pretty disappointing.

This is a must see for all die hard fans of any of the Star Trek series. It's interesting to see the different fans around the world. I loved the first Trekkies movie. It's great to see the fans reactions to Tasha Yar, the host. I am a nerd. I am proud to be a Trekkie.
