Member Rating:
El Matador revolves around Jonny, a Mexican-American pizza delivery boy, and his decision to carry on his family's age-old tradition of pursuing a career as a professional matador. Before he can fight any bulls, however, Jonny must defeat El Joto, a local loan shark who, years ago, forced Jonny's father to pay him with a prized family heirloom -- a pair of bronzed bull testicles. The film stars Andrew M. Aybar, Ismael Carlo, Joey Medina, and Paul Rodriguez. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

This is one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. It's clever and original. The primary character, Juan comes from a line of Matadors dating back 1000 years and he takes on the challenge to fulfill his destiny. His family move to East L.A. after his father, a great Matador, has a mis-hap in the bullfighting ring. A prize family possession is stolen and Juan goes on a quest to get it back. Joey Medina can do it all -- write, direct, act and produce. The cast works well and the "dream sequences" are hilarious. I'm not easily impressed but this film impressed me. You'll need to watch it more than once because you'll still be laughing when the next funny part starts and you won't want to miss any of it.

This was a great funny film. Tickles you start to finish! I love a good laugh; especially from little known sources!

This was a very poorly made film. Looked like home video. I'm one who usually will watch anything I rent just because I paid money for it, but I didn't get past the first 20 minutes. Maybe it gets better but I didn't want to wait around for the laughs if there are any.
