The directorial debut from filmmaker Kara Harshbarger, this family-friendly comedy drama stars young Hallie Eisenberg, best known for her appearances in several late-'90s Pepsi television ads. The film tells the story of an aspiring baseball pro who finds his life take a sharp and unexpected turn when he suddenly becomes the sole caregiver for his young daughter, Abby (Eisenberg). While the pair are at first unable to find common ground, they gradually learn from each other and begin building a life together. ~ Matthew Tobey, Rovi
This is a really good story, but two things kept this from being a really good or great one. 1. Too much language for a "family movie". This movie's target audience appears to be young children and families. For this audience, they should have been a little cleaner. 2. The production quality is terrible. When you watch this, you think that this movie was made back in the '80's. Even with a low budget, the production quality should have been better. Still, all in all - a good movie. Leaves you thinking, though, about how much better it could have been.
