The Goonies have got nothing on these adventure seeking kids! When a group of teens stumble across a mysterious treasure map, the search is on to find a lost pirate ship that's filled with treasure. Though they soon discover a secret desert tunnel that will lead directly to the ship, the teens hadn't counted on a pair of Chinese strangers determined to claim the bounty at any cost. Making the acquaintance of an old hermit who claims to have been a member of the crew, the kids must overcome a series of deadly obstacles and fierce adversaries if they are to claim the elusive lost treasure and escape with their lives. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
The movie we received was not the one described. The movie I received depicted a horrific scene in the first five minutes where a group of dancing cruise go'ers were cut in half with a snapped cable, and as the bodies began to fall to the floor I was screaming at my crying 7 year old to get out of the room while I tried to locate the remote. In the next 1min the scene jumped to present time and the profanity started. I preceded to turn off the movie and engaged in a heated discussion with my 9 year who thought it was totally appropriate. Needless to say, Watchers beware and make sure you have the correct movie before showing it to the young ones!!!
Just like the other reviews, I did not receive the correct movie (TWICE). The first time I put the movie on for my kids and went to the kitchen for popcorn. My children called me back, horrified at the gruesome first scene which graphically showed cruise ship guests being cut in two with a cable. I was shocked that such a mistake could happen. And appalled when I got it again after calling and complaining. Apparently no one looks inside the covers to verify that the movie matches the cover before mailing it out again. This is not just a one time error! If you want your kids to sleep in your room go ahead and watch it.....
When this movie comes up on my computer screen, it has other movies you may enjoy, The Goonies underneath it. This movie is not one I would let my kids watch, and they have seen goonies. I really think that should be taken off, it is coming up on everyone else computer as well.
