Hong Kong superstar director Andrew Lau (Storm Riders, Infernal Affairs III) brings his action flair to the screen once again with Bullets of Love, a tale of lust and deceit between a police officer and an assassin that killed his fiancé. Sam (Leon Lai) and Ann (Asaka Seto) are on a romantic getaway after scoring a successful bust that Ann prosecuted. When she is murdered in a cold-blooded act of revenge, Sam takes an extended leave into the country, where he strikes up a friendship with You, a dead-ringer for his long-lost love, Ann. As delicate emotions begin to develop, complications arise when Sam finds out that You was actually Ann's assassin. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi

I can see how some people might not like this version of the HK action flick, it has very little action. It is brutal when there is an action scene, but if you are a fan of the genre, it is few and far between. Having said all of that, I enjoyed this movie. It has a soul to it that most HK action movies don't have. Yes the premise is ridiculous, and the situations are stupid, but I disagree that the actors are not charismatic. Quite the contrary, they are very charismatic, and that includes the villans, all very cool. Rent this one!

Bullets of Love is a snooze fest that crawls by, albeit with superior production values and loads of style (yawn). The actors have all the charisma of manikins. Avoid.
