A single New York woman endures a series of blind dates in search of the perfect spouse in director Jon Sherman's romantic comedy I'm With Lucy. Looking back on her search as she prepares for her wedding, Lucy (Monica Potter ) recalls the physical chemistry of her and Gabriel (Gael García Bernal), the love of Walt Whitman that she shared with orthopedist Luke (David Boreanaz), her fling with former pro-basketball player Bobby (Anthony LaPaglia), her memorable connection with affectionate computer salesman Barry (Henry Thomas), and her mysterious relationship with the shifty Doug (John Hannah). One of these men will be waiting for Lucy at the alter, but one thing keeps nagging at our protagonist's conscience -- has she made the right choice when it comes to the man she'll spend the rest of her life with? ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

If you like romantic chick flicks in general & are a bit quirky/eccentric yourself, then you’ll like I'm With Lucy. It’s a light look at the dating process, but resonates deeper if you’re slightly “regular" yourself. Lucy (Monica Potter) careens from a devastating breakup through a series of blind dates (several of which turn into relationships) culminating in her wedding to Mr. Right. Not revealing Mr. Right’s identity until the last 1/2 hour of the movie kept the suspense going. If you watch a second time you can see how her mistakes from other dates affect how she behaves in the next date... it was a little confusing that they skipped around a bit, but in the end I liked that choice, because the memories flowed kind of stream of consciousness out of what she was thinking about at the time. Part of the reason that I liked this movie so much is that I totally approve of her choice... It is a deeper look at what makes relationships right, and I liked that.

Monica Potter goes all out in representing all the dorky girls in this movie. It has a great cast of familar faces such as Gael Garcia Bernal from Motorcycle Diaries, John Hannah from Sliding Doors, and of course David Boreno of Angel. It's cute and light yet romantic..and you'll find someone she meets just like someone you've met. What to do? Who to choose? Who would you choose??? Enjoy!

I'm a long-time Monica Potter fan, and she doesn't disappoint in her role as a somewhat confused, but likable, single girl. I've seen this movie 3 times - and noticed different things each time. The movie is realistic, humorous, and non-offensive. Take it for what it's worth - it's not a deep, life-changing movie, but it's light-hearted and fun.
