Ator the Fighting Eagle (1982)
Member Rating:
The dialogue in this "sword and sorcery" film argues for a return to the silent screen as Ator, son of Thorn, fights off giant spiders and the evil Black Knights and chases after a comely, blond maiden, but not at the same time. Scripted lines like "not to go the maternity route" in a medieval setting are comparable to whiskering up the Mona Lisa and not noticing the difference. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

This is a euro-trash knock-off of the much superior "Conan the Barbarian." It is a heaping slice of 80's cheesy sword and sorcery. Don't get me wrong. I OWN this DVD and it is a lot of fun to watch, particularly with a bunch of friends and a lot of alcohol. This movie did not end up on MST3K (although its sequel "Cave Dwellers" did) but it should have. Ator's fight with the "spider god" that looks like he fighting 8 sock puppets at the same time is great pay off.
