This was a very welcomed change for the Hellraiser movies. The next 2 movies followed this format. Everyone I know loved this movie for originality

I believe I saw it before but didn't remember I saw it, so that tells you. I kept confusing it with another one that was of the same story.

This is the first movie that I've seen from this franchise (except the original) that actually had a beginning! There was actually a back story that was explored. This is also the first movie from the franchise that I've seen that kept a hold on reality (at least with one hand) throughout the movie. Usually, once Pinhead enters, the storyline takes a dive out of reality and doesn't look back, so to speak. This was a welcome change!
