This is the second film by actor/director Ed Burns, his first being The Brothers McMullen. The two Fitzpatrick brothers, Mickey (Ed Burns) and Francis (Mike McGlone), would appear to have little in common, as the older is a rather volatile cab driver, the younger is a very settled stockbroker. Just prior to the time of the film, Mickey, after a whirlwind romance, married Hope (Maxine Bahns), one of his passengers. Francis has been married to his lifelong sweetheart (Jennifer Aniston) for some time. However, they are both very competitive about Heather (Cameron Diaz), an old flame of Mickey's. Mickey, who was once her fiance, left her when he found out she was sleeping with someone else. At the time of the story, Heather just happens to become a passenger in Mickey's cab, and they decide to finish exchanging belongings left over from their break-up. When Heather gives Francis (her current lover) the watch Mickey just returned to her, complications multiply. ~ Clarke Fountain, Rovi

This movie has something for people who like Indie stuff, for those who like Romantic Comedies and for those who just enjoy a human touch to the movies they watch. It's a good date movie because both parties will find something they enjoy about it. The characters are engaging and the situations seem based on reality so there's a lot to identify with. It's not a blockbuster by any stretch but the humor is charming and subtle which helps break up the subjects of family tradition and obligation, romantic betrayal, loyalty and evaluation of personal values. I very much recommend this movie.

It's a feel good film! You'll feel good that your family isn't as screwed up as this one! Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz are as beautiful as ever, so I guess you can understand why someone would be torn between them.....but I'm not sure you want to see this one with the girlfriend....lots of cheating going on with these brothers.

I really enjoyed this film. Clever dialogs, especially by Edward Burns. It's about a disfunctional family and good looking women. Lots of chuckles, mixed with character disappointments.

The movie was a good movie about a family progressing forward even though it is very flawed. All the male characters have their bad moments but with the help of some good relationship chemistry there is hope in the end. I thought the character development was pretty good and it was a decent independent film. I liked the film better than "The Brothers McMullen". It seemed like this was more carefully put together.

Good acting, but not my favorite script.

Much crudity.

This movie was just downright TERRIBLE. The script was as weak as weak can get - the acting couldn't rise above the bad lines. The only good thing about this movie was the soundtrack nicely done by Tom Petty..as for the rest ...P.U.

Unsympathetic characters, witless script, non-credible plot. Other than that, it was OK. Oh, and did I mention, a two-hour orgy of product placement for Philip Morris, Guiness, and Budweiser. There are much better ways to waste two hours of your life than with this drivel.
