A college professor named Clifford Skridlow (Dan Aykroyd goes undercover as a Chicago pimp disguised by a bushy wig in this comedy from director Michael Pressman. When Smooth Walker (Howard Hesseman gets hunted by his gangster rival, Mom (Kate Murtagh), he foists his bevy of hookers on the professor. For me, Doctor Detroit is a cult classic. Whenever I need a good laugh, this movie is just what the doctor ordered. In many ways, this movie could be considered a prequel to Trading Places released just a few months before it in 1983. It's one of those movies that you'll pretty much love or hate. If you love it, it'll be amongst your favorites for years to come.
