Vulgar, slapstick comedy abounds in this feature film debut for television sitcom star Kelsey Grammer. Almost everyone else thinks of Lieutenant Commander Tom Dodge is a class "A" goof who messes up every task he is assigned, but Adm. Dean Winslow thinks otherwise and decides to give Dodge one last chance by assigning him to helm an outmoded, diesel powered, rusty in a series of wargames. Dodge's sub is to be the enemy and must somehow outsmart their high tech opponents. Though ostensibly only games, Admiral Yancy Graham, who considers Dodge an embarrassment to the Navy, decides to do everything he can to scuttle Dodge and his ragtag crew's mission. ~ Sandra Brennan, Rovi

Yes, it's slapstick. Yes, it's silly. But if that's what you want, then you'll be pleased. This movie is much better than it was probably given credit for.

"I want a man with a tattoo on his d***! Have I got the right man?......By some strange coincidence, you do." Great comedy, gets better every time that I see it. I would recomend this movie to anyone except small children, due to some language, who wanted to see a very funny, lighthearted movie.

A good movie to watch again and again (once in a while). Good acting, and very funny.

This movie is one of the classic military spoofs of all time. Its on par with Stripes, In The Army Now, and Hot Shots. Who knew that Kelsey Grammer could pull of such and off the wall role as Lt. Cmdr Tom Doge. If you need just a down right feel good movie then this is a must see, guaranteed to put a smile on your face!

I just love this movie. I have watched it many times and still laugh out load at the antics of the crew and how they respond to a unconventional captain. The captain needs this mission to work if he is to captain a sub in the future but still does his best to bring out the best in the misfit crew.
