Everything depended on one's ability to turn a good phrase or say something witty. Lives, social standing, power, and friends could be lost in an instant of not being humorous or scathingly sarcastic. Human life had little value, but wit ruled. The only nudity is in the opening (and disgusting) scene mentioned in other reviews. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No

Read More I was startled to see the urination scene at the begining of the movie. I wish it had been dubbed in English because reading the subtitles takes the enjoyment out of actually watching the movie. It is all about wits and "hee mah" (humor) which entertainted the royalty and wealthy regardless of the hurt feelings or wounded prides it created. It was ok to watch but just sad to see how the country gentleman was hit by a wall of red tape time and time again while all he wanted to do was to drain the swamps and prevent further local folks from dying from diseases. ~ Susan L. The plot is very good, well directed and superb acting. The movie does Miramax proud. It is truly one every person who has any class should see and for those with none, like me perhaps, it is just dam good. Close this Review WAS THIS REVIEW HELPFUL? Yes | No
