The Alien Dead (1984)

Never released theatrically, this undistinguished monster film is set in the Florida swamps where an unusual meteor shower has given birth to a group of mutant youngsters who were in the wrong place at the wrong time. The youngsters become horribly disfigured and are overtaken by an uncontrollable need for specific human flesh in order to survive. The sheriff (Buster Crabbe in his last movie role) offers a reward for the "alligators" that are mauling people to death, as a journalist and a game warden pitch to the truth and head to a confrontation with the mutants. ~ Eleanor Mannikka, Rovi

I really like Fred Ray's movies... This one, his first film shot on 16mm with a shoestring budget, is one you can skip... I really tried to like it, but unlike other low-budget horror cheapies (Dead Next Door, Evil Dead) there is really nothing redeeming about the film. It doesn't even fit into the "so bad it's good" category... It's just downright bad and boring... The director's commentary was about the only interesting thing in the whole movie.

This movie was a low budget and that's not a problem, there are many low budget films that are great. What I didn't like about it is how the story line didn't really keep me interested as well as the acting.

Even for low budget, this was really bad. And as the final movie for Buster Crabbe, it's a pretty bad send off. It jumped around so much it was hard to follow and the acting was even worse. Do yourself a favor and skip it.

Since Mike Bonavia --Miller Haze is my Uncle..I found the movie funny. Knowing how Mike is/was in real life made me laugh. He was an awesome person and will always have a special place in my heart. It singing was definately better than his acting. Love to you Uncle Mike..you are missed by soooo many Michele..aka..Gloria

You kind of know what you are going to get with this movie. With this understanding, it was entertaining.

Worst movie of all time. Seriously, I think a bunch of high school freshman got together with an old camcorder and did this movie as a school project, and they all got F's as their grade. DON'T RENT IT!
