Adapted by screenwriter Rafael Yglesias from his own novel, Fearless explores the complex struggle back to mental health of post-traumatic stress disorder victim Max Klein (Jeff Bridges). One of few survivors of a fatal plane crash, Klein remains calm and assists other survivors out of the burning debris, earning praise as a hero by the media. After stoically departing the tragedy without a word to emergency officials, Max returns home with detached feelings towards his wife (Isabella Rossellini) and son, along with a bizarre, seemingly authentic belief that he is now impervious to harm. Bill Perlman (John Turturro), a psychiatrist for the airline, fails to reach Max about his newfound fearlessness, but asks for his help in aiding Carla (Best Supporting Actress Oscar nominee Rosie Perez), a fellow crash survivor filled with grief and guilt over the loss of her baby. In one of his earlier roles, Benicio del Toro plays a small part as Carla's boyfriend. ~ Lisa Kropiewnicki, Rovi

I'll never forget how this film moved me and made me think and feel the first time I saw it. I have seen it at least ten more times, usually with someone I care about or a co-worker. Almost all liked it. The acting is good. Bridges is at his best. I enjoy Rossellini's portrayal of his wife. As far as Perez goes, I never paid attention to her until this film. She is great here. You can't help but to feel her pain. The only thing at all that bothers me with this movie was the over-the-top slimy lawyer. If you are into special effects, you might enjoy the opening scene and the flashbacks of "the, umm, unfortunate, umm, ... crash." I wondered how they got away with apparently crashing a jet full of people to film it right. This is on my top 10 favorite movies list, and the first movie I ever bought a second copy of "just in case!" See it!

It went right into the movie and was hard to follow, you have a hard understanding as to why things are happening and who was doing what and where and why. I didn't enjoy this as much, it was misleading to me, not at all what I would have expected to be.

The acting was fantastic and that's about the only thing that saved the movie for me. Unfortunately, I never figured out the plot. Maybe I'm just dense. I kept watching to the end, hoping to "get" it, but then the movie ended and I was still super confused. I love Jeff Bridges though. Maybe others would "get" this better than me.

I think people explain this movie too simply without going deeper into it's heart.. It's certainly about PTSD's, however, it's much more than that. People are missing the spiritual meaning of enlightenment. The book of drawings Bridge's wife finds have swirls and tunnels of light culminating in a vortex with Christ (there were crucifixes to be found in the drawing's tunnels) at the end summoning one to the Light. Afterall, it was a near death experience which was life changing. Love (in the true romantic, Divine sense), Forgiveness, Redemption play roles here. Remember The Strawberries...

I wear hearing aids but still rely on subtitles to understand well. With no subtitles I could not follow the movie at all. My wife who has very good hearing had much dificulty following it too, so could not help me at all. After about 15 minutes we both gave up and didn't try to finish. If movies don't have subtitles, please let us know as it is a waste of our money and time to try to watch.

I liked the movie. I liked the actors. I wouldn't rate it a 5 star like Gene, but I did like it. Some of it was interesting, some was weird and hard to follow.

I received the DVD "Fearless" in the mail yesterday but could not play it because of how many scratches were on the disc. I exchanged it in the store, but wanted to make you aware of this issue. This disc should not be sent to other customers because of its extreme use.
