Like George Lucas' American Graffiti, Richard Linklater's Dazed and Confused is an affectionate look at the youth culture of a bygone era. While Lucas took aim at the conservative 1950's, Linklater jumps ahead a generation to the bicentennial year of 1976 to celebrate the joys of beer blasts, pot smoking and Frampton Comes Alive. Set on the last day of the academic year, the film follows the random activities of a sprawling group of Texas high schoolers as they celebrate the arrival of summer, their paths variously intersecting at a freshmen hazing, a local pool parlor and finally at a keg party. ~ Jason Ankeny, Rovi

Just what I was in the mood for - a fun comedy with no thinking required! Dazed and Confused is a nostalgic look back at the last day of high school for some seniors in 1976. A bunch of characters, lots of 70's Greatest Hits songs, with the haircuts and clothing to match. Matthew McConaghey, in my opinion, has the funniest "look" of all of the characters. Don't get me wrong, though - it's all in good fun. A fun way to spend two hours.

Although I am from a very different era, I found this movie to be a great representation of high school life. The personalities were all there. It has a great cast, very funny. Richard Linklater really is a master of dialogue. I'll never get tired of this movie.

I was thrilled to be able to get the Criterion Collection edition of Dazed and Confused. The Criterion Collection guarantees one thing: an absolutely stellar DVD package. Divided into a two-disc presentation, Dazed and Confused is given a royal treatment in sound, in vision and in extras.

left me feeling like the title of the movie What was interesting was all the young actors and actresses that made it big later on in their careers.

A goofy laugh riot. I remember those days well - all of it. Fairly accurate in its portrayal of what was going down then. Though the jocks, gearheads, the brainiacs, and stoners didn't all party together - just wasn''t how it was. Many good laughs and there were doppelgangers for some of the cast of characters that I ran with. All in all a good time.

Five stars, two thumbs up. I could watch this movie over and over. I just love Parker Posey so seeing her in this movie is always a treat. I love all the random actors who are in this movie as well (Milla Jovovich, Cole Hauser).

Brings back those terrible days, yet at the same time glorious times, of high school. I was most likely considered a antisocial stoner who sat on School Street curb and smoked Marlbro red ciggs. Watch it, love it. I hate you all!-Stone

The key is understanding that this isn't supposed to be Fast Times at Ridgemont High but perhaps that movie directed by Robert Altman. It's funny at times, but mostly plotless and it drips with nostalgia and sadness. If I ever say those were the best years of my life, shoot me.

A poor man's American Graffiti--not as well acted or as interesting. A typical adolescent raunch fest with drinking, profanity, drugs, etc. A few appealing characters--mainly nerds--but little else.

This is on my top ten list of all-time most boring, annoying, and stupid films.
