A British engineer and a young Bengali woman feel the backlash of cultural divisiveness in this uneven romantic drama. While the plot line sounds interesting, this movie is not. The acting is mediocre, and there are a lot of scenes that should have wound up on the editing room floor.

Two things ruined this movie for me. 1st was the camera work, it was pretty cheaply made or least it looked that way. 2nd the ending wasn't my cup of tea. Great stars, and great culture view, but isn't love suppose to win out in the end? At least I want to believe in that even though my experience doesn't show it. A ruined man, a ruined family, a ruined movie watcher. Let us all just give up...

I would have to give this movie a 1/2 star rating. The 1/2 star rating would have to come from the cast member being chosen to play "Allan". The story line is very difficult to follow. In my opinion there were too many unanswered character questions to connect the characters to the story line. By the way, who were the characters that Allan kept going back to (2 women and 1 man) and what was their role? The ending was very abrupt. Sorry Hugh, as a fan I did not like this one, but I am glad that you have some great ones to add to your cap.

I like the multicultural love story however, I don't like the ending. Allan didn't fight for his love at the end. There are a lot of characters that don't need to be there...

I tried to stay interested but after about an hour, I still hadn't grasped the point of the movie and frankly, it was boring. Do not recommend this film.

The sound was really bad. Had to watch it with subtitles just to figure out what was said. I felt like they left big parts of the story out. I suppose if I had read the book it would have made more sense.
