Crimebusters (1979)
Member Rating:
The reliable Henry Silva does his best to keep Crimebusters afloat. The plot shifts into gear when the hero's family is kidnapped. No, it isn't the mob who's responsible; it's the government. As the protagonist desperately searches for his loved ones, he unearths a Borgia-like conspiracy. Antonio Sabato costars in this PG-rated pulse-pounder. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

The official blockbuster synopsis is for a different movie. This is a typical Terence Hill / Bud Spencer comedy a la the "Trinity" series. If you haven't seen and loved "Trinity is Still My Name," then start there. Then, if you crave more, watch Crimebusters. The plot involves two would-be criminals who are down on their luck. Planning a robbery, they break into the police precinct instead, and end up as cops-in-training. I loved this movie as a kid--the simple humor and easy plot are perfect for children. It took decades to track it down on DVD. Funny, silly, and not too long.
