This less-satisfying sequel to the 1982 George A. Romero/Stephen King anthology presents a new trio of King stories, framed in a similar EC Comics-style format -- this time featuring some rather lackluster animated segments involving horror-host "The Creep," who introduces each chapter with pun-heavy gallows humor. The stories vary widely in quality: first there's "Old Chief Wood'nhead," involving a cigar-store Indian who quite literally guards the entrance to an old general store and comes to life to avenge the murders of the elderly couple (George Kennedy and Dorothy Lamour) who owned it. The middle segment, "The Raft," features a group of obnoxious teenagers stranded on a raft in the middle of a lake at the mercy of a murderous oil slick which looks like a bunch of plastic garbage bags stitched together. Both of these suffer in comparison to the closing segment, "The Hitchhiker," in which a bored, promiscuous socialite (Lois Chiles) mows down a hitchhiker, who refuses to stay dead, returning again and again to torment her at every turn, rasping "Thanks for the ride, lady!" Despite its strengths -- a livelier pace, some creatively gory set pieces -- this is a much cheaper-looking effort than its predecessor, with the deft guidance of Romero conspicuously absent (long-time collaborator Michael Gornick took up the directorial reins); as a result, King's gross-out sensibilities don't come off as well. Makeup maestro Tom Savini appears in heavy makeup as a live-action version of The Creep, and King pops in for a bit part as a redneck trucker. ~ Cavett Binion, Rovi

This movie is based on three short stories written by King. I loved The Raft storie but the movie chopped it up and changed it. The ending in the movie is not how it ended in the storie. The wooden indian was good in this but I hate the hitchiker! I also think that the animation is stupid and looks very very bad! I would say to rent this if you'd like to see the movie versions of the writtings.

Didn't have as many short stories as part one. The first of 3 stories was pretty boring but the second and third stories were really good. Funny and scary. The cartoon inbetween had a better story and is longer than on part one also.

the first creepshow is possibly the best horror anthology film out there but this was a pretty dissapointing sequel, the first two stoies are ok but the third story is pretty lousy, i was waiting for atleast two more stories like in the first film but this one doesn't even bother, the film has some nice musical scores and a few cool parts to it but it really lacks the creativity of the first film

Excellent movie from the 80s that reminds why corny horror movies from that time are so enjoyable.

I've always had a special place in my heart for Creepshow 2. it's not that good, but it is entertaining. I guess it has to do with Stephen King, I love his work. I also dig it when King shows up and does a little acting. His cameo has the redneck truck driver always cracks me up. My favorite story is The Raft. A floating maneating oil slick out smarts 4 teens. One of the best things about 80's horror movies is when people are dead and your life is in danger but some guy will still want to have sex. HILARIOUS! It's a fun campy movie. Enjoy it again.

Not quite as good as the first Creepshow (from 82) - but still entertaining. "Old Chief Woodenhead" is my favorite in this series that also includes "the Raft" and "the Hitchhiker". This series is from 1987 and still shows that a Stephen King - George Romero team is a good one. King took a staring role in the first Creepshow, but you'll have to watch for him as an extra in Creepshow II.

Very predictible. If this is Stephen King, he has lost his juice. I thought this movie was boring and not scary at all. Tales from the Crypt is much better!
