Cinderella (1964)
Member Rating:
Lesley Ann Warren plays the title role in this television production of the classic Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein III musical. Cinderella (Warren) is a sweet and pretty young woman who has been given a poor hand by fate; her stepmother (Jo Van Fleet) treats her cruelly, and while her graceless sisters are invited to a royal ball, Cinderella is not allowed to attend. But her Fairy Godmother (Celeste Holm) has other plans, and Cinderella attends the ball, where she makes a tremendous impression upon the Prince (Stuart Damon). But her Godmother's magic only works until midnight, and Cinderella is forced to leave the festivities at their height; will she ever see the Prince again? And how will he ever find her? This was the second television production of this musical version of the classic fairy tale; the original 1957 version featured a young Julie Andrews in the lead. ~ Mark Deming, Rovi

This movie brought back so many memories of when i was a child, my mom and i would watch it all the time, and now i watched it with my grandaughter! She loved it too. I recommend this movie to anyone who want to go back in time when things were simple, not any of this crazy nonsense that has invaded our lives.

This movie is a nice old-time Cinderella presented on TV with a setting more like a stage play. I got it for a friend who wanted her 6-year old daaughter to enjoy it as she had 30-years earlier. Please note, the beautiful dress worn by Cinderella makes viewing this classic a bonus.

Best version of Cinderella ever. This and "Cinderfella" with Jerry Lewis were always my favorites. Quality classics. This one tops the list -- My favorite Cinderella ever. The best!

I love this movie! I watched my vhs copy so much that I wore out the tape. I was so excited when I saw it available for rent here because the dvd is crazy expensive if you try to buy it.

Sweet movie. Be sure to watch the "extras" to see Celeste Holm with her face so tight she can hardly smile. Facelift! As enjoyable as it is, this movie cannot hold a candle to the 1990s production with Brandy, Bernadette Peters and Whitney Houston. The costumes and scenery are some of the best, ever!

I remember watching this movie as a little girl and I still remember the words to most of the songs. My mother and I would sit and watch it all the time enjoying each other's company and I plan on doing the same with my daughter. This movie is sweet and fun, it will always hold a special place in my heart. They should broadcast this movie again so more people can love and enjoy it as much as I did (do).
