I do not understand the "Member Rating" of only one star. Subtle humor and then a little slapstick. Total spoof on Charlie Chan, who I love dearly. Plus there really is a mystery. Well worth watching.

It was nice to look back and remember what some of these stars looked like in the 70's. The movie was funny if you like slapstick comedy.

Charlie Chan fans avoid this one!Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. Couldn't finish it. The "slapstick" wasn't funny, just lame: schtick after schtick.

Peter Ustinov is a marvelous detective! However, he is not Charlie Chan! He is Hercule Poirot! Couldn't watch it- about 5 seconds was all I could take.

I don't think Charlie Chan movies should be so camp. With this cast of actors I thought this movie should have been better. It was soooo silly.

I certainly made a mistake on this one. I love old black and white movies. That's one reason I think I made a mistake with this one - didn't mean to order it. I tried twice to watch it. I turned it on, had to turn it off, came back and fast forwarded it and tried to watch it again. I've seen a lot of movies, good and bad, filthy and unfilthy, but this one takes the cake. Never has there been a movie with the words "God D___ it!", so many times. Brian Keith said it a hundred times a minute. It was totally unnecessary. Peter Ustinov would have had a good movie if not for this. It was just way, way too much.
