David Ayer's End of Watch stars Michael Peña and Jake Gyllenhaal as a pair of L.A. cops and close friends who work to keep the streets safe. Shot in a found-footage style, the movie follows the duo as they make enemies with a major drug cartel and attempt to lead happy personal lives. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
I was very disappointed with this film. The premise was interesting, but the film was a huge letdown. The "found footage format" is horrible and should be done away with as a way of making films. I am sorry to have spent the time to watch this movie as it is time I can never get back. My suggestion is... if you are thinking of renting this...keep looking...there are WAY better movies out there.
This film could have been called "Southland the Movie" because it's exactly like the TV show with more violence and a lot more street language. Brutal and probably a little too realistic, it shows two LAPD officers, assigned to the infamous South Central Los Angeles district, going through a few months of police work. Intense and some of the scenes are burned into the viewer's mind forever.
you people who are putting this movie down because you can't handle the hand held camera work have no business putting this down as a movie. if you don't like hand held stuff then don't watch it but as far as a movie goes it was quite good, there was 1 part about ten minutes before it ends where i said 'ya right' but i wouldn't judge the movie based one what happened in a 30 second period. this movie was gritty, human and powerful in my opinion. is it great? no, but it deserves some respect, it's like cops only more involved. so worth a watch (if you can handle hand held camera stuff) it got great reviews so don't judge it by people who can't handle a little shaky camera work, judge it by what's on the screen
I watched the full movie here ----------> http://tiny.cc/movie784 (that link is for those who haven't watched it yet) Anyway, what can I say? this movie definitely made me love the characters and I can relate!! Just some minor plots that are ridicuous I didnt like.. anyway, 5/5 stars for this movie!!
I was greatly looking forward to seeing this, but neither my friend or I liked it. It was filmed with a hand-held camera, continually jerking around, making me sick. And the dialog did not seem realistic to either of us for police officers, they continually joked and cursed.
