Lee Toland Krieger's humorous romantic drama Celeste and Jesse Forever focuses on best friends who stay incredibly close even after they divorce. Celeste (Rashida Jones) is a type-A marketing whiz with a knack for trend spotting, and Jesse (Andy Samberg) is a struggling artist with an irresponsible streak. They've been BFFs since 10th grade, and even though their attempt at marriage together failed, they still spend every day together, enjoying their private jokes and making each other laugh, six months after their separation. He hopes for a reconciliation, she wants him to grow up. Their deep bond takes its first serious blow when Jesse finally does become involved with another woman - causing each of them to wonder how to be in each other's lives. Co-written by Jones and actor Will McCormack, the movie co-stars Ari Graynor, Eric Christian Olsen, and Emma Roberts. ~ Perry Seibert, Rovi
This was sweet, but it definitely does not give you the happy Hollywood ending. Its all about realizations... that relationships take work, that you should appreciate your partner while they are your partner and that sometimes being right is wrong.
Very sweet but a little sad.
Very sad movie about a couple that is divorcing but still hanging out as good friends, much to the bewilderment of their pals. Something has to give eventually, and one of them meets someone and they both adjust to this new chapter in their lives. This movie made me cry. It was good beacuse it was real. Standout performance by Will McCormack, as the hilarious-without-trying, Skillz.
A realistic representation of what happens in relationships when we aren't honest with our partners & ourselves. It was refreshing to see this play out in a movie opposed to cookie cutter rom-coms with predictable endings.
I watched the full movie here ----------> http://tiny.cc/movie784 (that link is for those who haven't watched it yet) Anyway, what can I say? this movie definitely made me love the characters and I can relate!! Just some minor plots that are ridicuous I didnt like.. anyway, 5/5 stars for this movie!!
This was a great movie - a mix of humor with the reality of love and life. Definitely well written and bittersweet. Realizations and emotions one can connect to.
