A personal ad placed for a time-travel partner prompts an investigation involving three magazine reporters in this quirky comedy produced by Mark and Jay Duplass (Jeff, Who Lives at Home) and starring Aubrey Plaza (Parks and Recreation). Kenneth is a self-proclaimed time traveler who doesn't want to take his next journey alone. Intrigued by Kenneth's cryptic ad, a local newspaper editor dispatches cynical reporter Darius (Plaza) and a pair of other employees to get the scoop. Upon meeting Kenneth, Darius see past his peculiar front and recognizes the lonely soul inside. As genuine as Kenneth may be, however, his questionable sanity leaves Darius uncertain of how to proceed with her story. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
I like to call this a "quiet" movie. No shoot outs, explosions, or even huge laughs. But there are laughs that come from the human experience. And there are genuine human emotions. The movie does move slowly, but that's part of its charm. I loved the relationships between the characters. And I loved the ending.
A refreshing change of pace movie with a terrific story and some laughs along the way. I loved it & wish I knew of more movies like this one. Didn't know a single actor or actress in the film (until Kristen Bells very small role at the end), in the film. But they were all GREAT and deserve an OSCAR!
Great drama slow but that is what make this movie work. Just because something is different does not mean it is strange or weird. Everything has an oddness to it and when you get to know it or use to it clarity comes. Wow cool ending! This explains the movie without telling the plot. Watch the movie you will understand.
A great quirky indie drama. The good thing is that while the Duplass brothers are involved, someone else handles the camera so it doesn't have the annoying, amateurish zooming in the films they direct. Anyway, it's funny and touching all the same time. And there's a big surprise at the end!
