I got the movie because Liam Neeson is the main character and the movie is set in Alaska. The visual impact of the movie was impressive and explosive, very on the edge of your seat. The portrayal of wolves was very disappointing, not correct or realistic. The social interactions and religious overtones where heavy in thought and unexpected for an action movie. No I don't want to see it again, but I would recomend the movie to friends that do not mind fatalistic endings.

it was not an action movie but it had action through out. it was not a pure character study but had that through out also. it was not introspective but was you guess it, introspective through out. it was about survival but not a survival movie. the movie needed liam neeson or a star like him, not just any other star. after watching it i now understand all the publicity push prior to its theater release. i personally would have been bummed if i paid full price and theater concession prices for it. i still gave it a strong 3 stars.
