A man (John Cusack) convicted of killing a seedy sheriff is given a new life when a female pen pal (Nicole Kidman) enlists the aid of two journalists to try and get him off death row. Precious' Lee Daniels adapts Pete Dexter's novel. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi
JERRY H. I read that this was black comedy. I didn't find anything comedic about it. It was disturbing but worth watching for the outstanding acting done by all especially, Nicole Kidman. I had some trouble following the story early on. There was rapid dialogue over dialogue too fast for the Eng. subtitles to be of much help. The film was less entertaining than transfixing.
All of those who criticize this movie have no idea what moving making and film is all about.
This is a great movie. Excellent story, and kudos to the cast.
John Cusack was magnificient, and I was suprised about the kids' performance (can't remember his name).
