A man (John Cusack) convicted of killing a seedy sheriff is given a new life when a female pen pal (Nicole Kidman) enlists the aid of two journalists to try and get him off death row. Precious' Lee Daniels adapts Pete Dexter's novel. ~ Jeremy Wheeler, Rovi
Graphic scenes, low morals and bad behavior does not substitute for a high-quality script...especially in this movie. My family could not bare to watch the whole thing. It is sad to see actors who obviously are very talented sell out for a paycheck in a dreadful movie like this.
Good flic. The structure has very little to do with storyline. Discovery , coming of age, falling in love part of young guy's development. Better than expected. ZE very good so is all cast. Rather nostalgic, once youth is gone what remains are memories and lessons.
