Milo is a kitten, Otis is a dog. When Milo gets into a small box with the intention of taking a trip down a river, Otis follows. En route, the stars encounter bad weather, life-threatening situations, and even potential mates. Original made for Japanese TV under the title Koneko Monogatari, The Adventures of Milo and Otis contained some intense scenes that were edited out for Western audiences. For American consumption, the film was pared down to a G-rated 75 minutes, with a new comic narration added, written by Mark Saltzman and delivered by Dudley Moore. ~ Hal Erickson, Rovi

This movie was great for my two young daughters. They enjoyed all of the real life farm animals and the story narration was very creative. I will purchase this video.

My daughters loved this movie, very cute with many different animals throughout movie! Very cool how they train this animals to do the things they do, which is why it is that much more entertaining!

this movie is cute and fun. the characters are all animals and, although their mouths don't move, there are voice overs, much like in homeward bound. There are a lot of really funny parts in this movie and the animals are just great. a must see for animal lovers of all ages.

All animals all the time. Baby animals playing with each other, kitten playing with baby birds in the nest. Kitten floating down river in box, going over waterfall, falling off of a cliff into the ocean. All 100% real footage with clever voice-over provided by Dudley Moore. Definitely one for kids to see and adult animal lovers as well. **Warning, if you don't want to explain the birds and the bees to your child, skip over the birthing scene in the cave toward the end. (Actual footage of Puppy and kitten being born.)

This movie was so sweet and the real life of what the two went through. The camera work was so great and all of the beautiful country side on the adventure of these two friends was wonderful.

This is a strange little movie. Sure there are lots of cute critters and fun story. The disturbing part are the stunts and situations the animals were put in. I'm NOT an animal activist or anything like that. However, I was quite surprised at the stressful situations and stunts that the animals went through. Before I wrote this I considered whether this is overreacting, but no. It certainly isn't something voluntary for the animals and it's just plain mean. This is not appropriate for anyone and does NOT set a good example.

The makers of this movie are truly sick in the head. There are many scenes where the animals are terrified, or obviously hurt during the filming... ie. the kitten getting pinched in the lip my a crab.... getting shoved down a dirty pipe, covered in soot (including soot in his eyes and nose) and shoved in a sack of flour... being attacked... literally attacked by seagulls.... or even allowing the kitten to roughly bat at a newborn bird. There are many scenes where the animals are so scared and you can see their mouths yelping and meowing in fear, and they added voice overs, but it was obvious that they were terrified. I also heard that some of the cats were killed in the river scene. I agree, this movie should be yanked from the shelves.
