Two powerful CEOs pit a blundering congressman against an unlikely political newcomer in order to seize control of a crucial North Carolina district in this satirical political comedy starring Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis. On the eve of an upcoming election, incumbent congressman Cam Brady (Ferrell) makes a misstep that threatens to end his career in politics. Recognizing the opportunity to gain influence in the aftermath of the public gaffe, a pair of scheming CEOs handpick credulous tourism-center director Marty Huggins (Galifianakis) as Brady's political rival, quickly shaping him into a viable candidate with the help of a seasoned campaign manager. As Election Day draws near, Brady and Huggins cast ethics aside to engage in the brand of hysterical mud-slinging that's sent contemporary politics straight down the toilet. Jason Sudeikis, John Lithgow, and Brian Cox co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

It was alright, the storyline was in a way very similar to trading places. But lacked all the extra humor.

This movie is based on repeating disgusting, shocking comments by the actors. These are comments about bodily functions and other acts that you haven't heard in movies before...with good reason: they aren't funny no matter how many times you repeat them. They are gross and low-class. The idea behind the movie could have been hilarious and interesting, so it was so disappointing to see Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis in roles having them behave in the worst kind of childish behavior. We were so hoping to have some comic relief during a tense election. This movie just demonstrated a lack of talent in writing and acting.

This appeared to be a remake of Head of State starring Chris Rock. I wouldn't recommend this flick.

Bad movie. Makes denegrating fun of Christians and Jesus. If you are a follower of Him, do not rent this movie, do not give Hollywood your money for this garbage

Pretty funny movie. Plenty of expected jokes but Ferrell and Galifianakis work well together.

Stupid could-be comedy about rival political morons, typical of the most of Will Ferrell movies.

Not the laugh out loud movie 1 would expect with these 2 as the main actors. Don't expect 'Step Brothers' comedy. Still worth the watch.

This is the first time I really like Will Ferrell. Of course Zach Galifianakis( if you could pick any name as an actor I would not pick my last name as GALIFIANAKIS because nobody on the plant can remember this stupid name) is soooo funny HAA HAA ha... It is about the up coming election and has pre-dicked that Obama WILL LOSE .
