His father killed by the Chief of the Tijuana police while attempting to cross the U.S./Mexico border, an impoverished young man constructs a homemade flying machine and travels to the Santa Monica pier in hopes of going airborne, and starting a new life in America. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
This film is quite clever and funny at times. A bit offbeat and complex behind it's simple facade. I'm not gonna lie it's not perfect. It has it's flaws, none the less I enjoyed it. The performances are quite good. Danny Trejo has a nice cameo. I can not forget to mention and well deserved, in my opinion, the standout performance by Julian Scott Urena playing the part of a corrupt government official, but this is not just some ordinary bad guy. This daring and layered performance lights up the screen. This actor really pulls you in, it elevates this film to a different level. I was really pleasantly surprised. Great job. Would love to see more of him in the future.
