A man gets out on a ledge of a building in NYC, and the fun begins. We get some background on him, but it's clear very quickly that he really isn't intent on jumping, and that something else is going on here. The movie moves from jumper negotiation to action scenes and back and forth. The buildup to the ending is very good, but the ending is somewhat abrupt. Predictable movie for the most part, but it's enjoyable as a rental.
Man on a Ledge isn't just about why this man is preparing to fall to his doom. In the story structure you find out the truth. And overall, it turns out to be okay to watch. There's some humor mixed in with appealing characters all around along with decent action to get the story pumping.
I enjoyed this moive very much. The action was good as well as the story line and the actors are perfect! I had read a not so good review, but I disagree and thought this movie was very much worth watchting!
Good movie, entertaining throughout including some unexpected twists. Kept me interested all the way to the end. Definitely worth seeing. I watch a lot of new Blu-Ray movies (3+ weekly) and think this is above average.
Don't understand the 2.5 star rating as of 6/1/12. I gave it 3.5 stars and enjoyed it.
Kept our interest throughout. Good actors, some you will recognize and a pretty involved script. The ledge aspect was very thrilling.I wish they would have made Worthingtons character a little less hero-like. But anyway, be sure and watch the special features showing how this movie was filmed. Good for a summer rental.
what a joke. Any chance this movie had at being taken seriously was thrown out the window when the brother's girlfriend came on the scene. We were laughing at how absolutely ridiculous her scenes were. The two main characters (Elizabeth Banks and Sam Worthington) did a good job,but the supporting characters not so much. It could have been a good movie if they kept it classy, ditched the bimbo and kept it about action because the plot was good and so were the main actors.
At first the movie was a bit confusing as it flicked between past to present but then it stayed in the present time and slowly it came together as to why the ex-con was out on the ledge. I don't want to give the movie away but it was a good movie, a bit of mystery and tense moments and a good ending.
