At a point in time when bullying in America has reached epidemic proportions, Emmy-winning director Lee Hirsch invites viewers to spend a year in the lives of students and parents who contend with public torment and humiliation on a daily basis. By following the young victims from the classroom to their living rooms, we are given an intimate glimpse into the effects bullying has on their families and their developing sense of self-worth. Meanwhile, parents, administrators, and other students struggle to find a workable solution to the problem that will never go away unless we all stand up and face it eye to eye. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
EVERYONE needs to view this film It is so vital. IMO, parents, teachers, administration, and community all need to get involved, but the ones who have the most power to stop this is the kids who are neither bullied nor bullying. They can really put a lid on their peers.
This is a movie that every child and parent should watch, whether you are a bully or have ever been bullied, it shows how everyone can work to end bullying. It also shows kids that making off hand remarks that bloom out of control and hurt someone is a form of bullying. Great conversation starter.
I was tortured and bullied from gradeschool through high school. This presentation hit me on all points except what would have resulted in my death.
I wanted to kill myself, but only as a last resort. What I TRULY wanted was the ability to KILL those who caused my pain.
I tried suicide, but I was to scared to take the final stroke.
Looking back, if I had the opportunity, I would have killed any and all who caused my agony.
My years of schooling are long behind me, as I am now 61 years old, and yet I STILL wish to see the eyes of terror in those who caused me pain just before they experienced my vengeance ripe with torture and agony before their final expression of soul-shaking fear before their end of life.
The ONLY difference between me and the senseless killings of Columbine and beyond is that MY targets would have been SPECIFIC and the innocents would have been ignored.
