A single father finds his lackluster parenting skills coming back to haunt him in this Adam Sandler comedy directed by Sean Anders (Sex Drive). As a teenage father, Donny (Sandler) struggled to raise his son Todd (Andy Samberg) until Todd was old enough to strike out on his own. Subsequently estranged from his father for years, Todd is about to marry the love of his life when Donny turns up determined to form the father-son bond they never had. Now the harder Donny tries to connect with his long-lost son, the more furious Todd's future bride grows with the unwelcomed intruder and his obnoxious antics. Leighton Meester and James Caan co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
The start to this movie is very inappropriate with a teacher/student relationship. The only positive is that the teacher is put away for 30 years. Adam Sandler has really slipped down hill in his stretch for comedy. He pushes the envelope on every aspect of the story and relationships. Adam is horrible in this film.
I use to really like Adam Sandlers comedy movies but they are starting to become B rated movies. I would love to see him do one serious movie and even an action movie because he just isn't funny in these type of movies. Too old to play this type of role and movie. 3/20/13
This movie had a few laughs, but as it went through its punch list of crude humor bits I felt embarrassed for the big name stars that were in it. The white trash comedy thing has worked in a few movies over the years, but this is not one of them.
I can't believe most of the top reviews for this movie the people didn't like it. To start off this movie obviously isn't kid friendly because it is rated R. I had a hard time breathing the first time I watched this movie I was laughing so hard! There are a lot of taboos touched in this movie but I feel that made it even funnier. This must be more of a guy movie than female friendly. I think the way it was put together was pretty ingenious. Definitely not the kind of movie that takes much brain power to follow but was plenty entertaining. I think that if you where a fan of the American Pie movies then you will like this movie.
almost turned it off. start of movie was painful to watch, even did laundry for a while. but, it did get stupid funny 1/2 the way in I think. Vanilla Ice is great. some twists in the end. Could have been done better but over all I was entertained. very crude. not for kids or anyone classy. just a warning! :)
Adam Sandler feels the need to do that stupid voice. That with limited humor in the script limites anything this movie will do. It does offer a few laughs, but few is the key word here.
This is a unique film. Not often can the subjects of child abuse, pedophilia, and incest be combined into a "comedy".
Adam Sandler must have been trying to see how far he could push an audience and still have them sit through the film.
I can understand "stars" like Vanilla Ice and Todd Bridges doing anything for a quick buck, but for actors like James Caan to go from the Godfather to this - in one lifetime - is a bit depressing.
Susan Sarandon should be asked to return her Oscar for even participating in this mess.
It was good to see Tony Orlando in his role, even though he looks like he ate Dawn.
To Adam Sandler fans, this film makes Little Nikki look like Shakespear. View at your own risk.
This was bad even by Adam Sandler standards! I thought I'd give this a chance because we thought his last one Jack and Jill was okay and had funny moments...but this was really really bad. To the point of really being awkward and unwatchable.
very disappointing, esp. given the trailers. has a plot that just drags and is not very funny. I don't mind stupid comedies but when it's just stupid period, it's not worth watching and that's what this movie was. I shut it off before the halfway point because it was that bad unfortunately.
