A group of London teens find themselves in the middle of an alien invasion and fight to defend their tower block from some evil extraterrestrials in this stylish sci-fi romp from the producers of Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. Beset by a gang of young thugs as she passes through a South London housing estate, Sam (Jodie Whittaker) is in the midst of being robbed when a ball of light falls out of the sky, and destroys a nearby car. Frightened, she flees from the scene just before an unearthly beast emerges from the wreckage and attacks Moses (John Boyega), the leader of the youthful gang. In retaliation, Moses and his crew slay the creature, and take it to a local drug den owned by ruthless gangster Hi-Hatz (Jumayn Hunter) for safe keeping. Later, as the police assist Sam in pursuing her assailants, strange lights start to rain down on the streets, heralding the arrival of a second, more ferocious, wave of creatures. With the city under siege, there's no place left to run. Quickly realizing she's going to have to fight if she wants to survive, Sam once again crosses paths with the street-tough teens, but instead of running away vows to battle alongside them to the bitter end. Meanwhile, Moses becomes the primary target of the aliens, and the group arms themselves with everything from baseball bats to high-powered fireworks in the fight to save the human race. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

One part in the movie reminds me of The Planet of the Apes, these aliens look like apes with glowing teeth they have no eyes. This is one crazy movie that you should like.

Waagwan ?= What's going on ? If yu is a Yawdy/Jamaican you should have "No Problem". Loved the patois,but then like all British movies I always watch with sub titles,may NOT work in the theater (: This alien invasion plot was different particularly from the aliens agenda,which seemed to turn into revenge.The teens that started as the villains/thugs became likable and the aliens became the common villains,that may not be so clear in the trailer,where there are casualties and heroes.Witty,sarcastic British humor,but not a lot of special effects not missed,hope to see pt.2,3,and 4 like the harry potter series.(in trouble for that one) ):{

It is odd to me that a movie can be both good and bad at the same time... I thought they did a great job of what they intended to do, but just find it in bad taste to watch a bunch of young kids smoke pot and literally cuss continually. Having said that, I was young once too, but think it was just over the top. Funny that this is the part of a sci-fi movie about aliens that I find out of place, but it is what it is.

Ebert called it Gangsters&Aliens which fits as it used the "enemies join forces against invaders" formula from 2006's comic "Cowboys&Aliens," fresh out of theaters during ATB's theatrical release, which contains original aspects in it's characters, puppets, setting and situations including it's British humor, making it fun in a nearly foriegn tongue.

A waste of time and effort. You spend your whole time deciphering British slang, viewing a London ghetto and looking at fake looking aliens with LED teeth! Ruins your impression of London and future ambition to visit there.

Thought it has been done before in past films. If you watch the trailor- you have seen all the BEST parts of the film-which is not that great.

    The kids were great! There's a lot of slang, so it's a little hard to understand. I really enjoyed that it wasn't a big-budget film with nothing but action. Some parts made me jump, some made me nervous, I laughed, I almost cried. Interesting how the street thugs develop into likable characters with personalities.

    This movie was very unique. It's tough to categorize it as it's got a little comedy, some sci-fi, a lot of action, and plenty of British slang. But it's a solid movie. I would recommend it.

    A very fun movie. Even if you can't undestand a lot of the British brogue, you get the gist of the story. One of the most enjoyable movies I have seen.
