A working mother strives to balance her demanding career with the stress of raising two young children and maintaining a healthy marriage in this comedy adapted from the best-selling novel by Allison Pearson. By day, Kate Reddy (Sarah Jessica Parker) works for a Boston-based financial management firm; by night, she's a devoted mother to two adoring children and the happily married wife of out-of-work architect Richard (Greg Kinnear). Though balancing those two worlds has its fair share of challenges, Kate generally manages to come out on top thanks to the support of her best friend, Allison (Christina Hendricks), who's had plenty of experience balancing kids and a career. Meanwhile, on the other end of the spectrum, Kate's sharp-as-a-tack junior associate assistant, Momo (Olivia Munn), possesses a fear of children and a strong work ethic. Just when Kate lands a lucrative new account that will see her traveling across the country on a regular basis, however, her new business associate Jack (Pierce Brosnan) reveals his flirtatious side and Richard receives a job offer he can't turn down. Though it looks as if Kate and Richard couldn't possibly take on any more responsibility, the demands of modern living ensure they'll never have a dull moment, even if they try. ~ Tracie Cooper, Rovi

Aside from the unfair representation of the stay-at-home mom, this movie provides a good look at the challenges facing the family today. Greg Kinnear gave a genuine and sincere portrayal in his role as father and husband. He demonsrates how his support, his patience and his love makes a two-career family possible. Mom learns to balance her roles and it is suggested that employers make it possible for her to do so. The careerist mom is here to stay and so is the family. As the frenetic pace in this movie indicates, it's not easy but it can be done and it's worth the work.

Not a very funny movie. Horrible portrayal of the stay at home mom and not a quite clear one of the working mom. It does give a good look at many challenges the working parent faces. Will not watch again. Almost an entire waste of time.

Give us a better understanding of the pressures on working moms (juggling family and job). Unfortunately, it misrepresents the mom who chooses to work at home (most, are working just as hard, or maybe harder) but I guess they wanted to use the caricature to make it funnier. Anyway, it was entertaining. I think most would like it.

Overall not a bad movie. Nothing to brag about, but entertaining enough to keep me watching. Worth renting, but don't expect a masterpeice.

More Jessica Sarah Parker, as if we needed it. Olivia Munn was a lot more interesting. Better title..."I Don't Know Why She Does It"

I enjoy Sarah JP and thought it was a good movie - mostly a chic flick tho.

Cute movie with a message about spending more time with the family, priorities. Sarah Jessica Parker and Greg Kinnear are always good. So-so part for Pierce Brosnan.
