Three fanatical bird-watchers (Steve Martin, Owen Wilson, Jack Black) spend an entire year competing to spot the highest number of species as El Nino sends an extraordinary variety of rare breeds flying up into the U.S., but they quickly discover that there are more important things than coming out on top of the competition. Director David Frankel (The Devil Wears Prada, Marley and Me) teams with screenwriter Howard Franklin to adapt author Mark Obmascik's 1998 book of the same name. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi

Bad acting, bad script, not funny. Not entertaining at all. Stopped movie after 20 minutes.

pleasant surprise. Liked it, though the plot was a little predictable. LOADED with A list stars, really enjoyed it.

I guess they counted on the three big names and the uniqueness of the story to carry this so-so script.. Well I did stick around to the end, but would I recommend it..no.

KEEP IN MIND: The cast line-up leads us to believe it's a belly-busting funny movie. It is NOT. If you go into it knowing that, it's a very like-able, endearing movie. Not great, but very good, worth a watch. No big belly-laughs, just some silly stuff here and there built into the story.

Really? A movie about bird watching? I know, I know...birding. But in spite of myself, I got sucked in. These three comedic actors have a bit more range than I might have suspected. This is NOT a knee-slapper. It's just a good-hearted story about obsession, how it works from the inside, how it looks to outsiders. Kinda fun, after all.

Lots of beautiful shots of North American birds, and insight into the people who travel (& how!) to see them. I guess this is really going on. Anyway engaging, and thought-provoking on many levels. Owen Wilson, though, for me can only believably play someone in rehab, but he carries off the villain in this story fairly well. (Like why would that woman EVER have married him???) Steve Martin and Jack Black bring the energy.

Sitting in my backyard watching for crows would be more entertaining than this movie. Yawn.
