This movie seems much older than 1961 - it is very slow-paced, excessively verbose, and the dialog attempts to create the language patterns of the eighteenth century (I think). Consequently, I found it difficult to get engaged in the story. Mildly amusing, but not comic (at least, not intentionally), not a chiller at all by today's standards.
