Comic Sacha Baron Cohen re-teams with director Larry Charles (Borat, Bruno) for this satirical tale of an oppressive, democracy-hating dictator and a goatherder (both played by Cohen) whose misadventures in America lead to a series of outrageous culture clashes. Anna Faris, Ben Kingsley, and Curb Your Enthusiasm's J.B. Smoove co-star. ~ Jason Buchanan, Rovi
Actually, this film is a surprise. We have a character study of a young middle eastern dictator, who at first seems absolutely ridiculous, but through many misadventures in New York City, remarkable traits emerge and he becomes a better man for it - a proper leader, organized, adaptable, observant, warm, courageous, fresh, open and honest. The film leaves no topic untouched in being "politically incorrect." The humor is trenchant, never stops. It makes you laugh and it makes you think. Who'd have thought?
i thoguth it was a good movie, much better than his previous movies! Loved the criticism against democracy but obviously no-one is pefect... there were parts i really lauged and it entertained me much! I would watch this movie again :)
Another dumb Sacha's movie but lower level than even Borat. I like the humor at the beginning, like the music but after 20 minutes I was simply tired from same lame Sacha.
Still watchable, some pretty funny moments but kind of disappointed over all.
